Rooibos comes from a shrub whose name means "red bush" in Afrikaans. This bush only grows in South Africa, as it requires a very specific climate and soil to thrive. Contrary to its nickname "Red Tea," it is not a tea and does not contain theine/caffeine. Rooibos has a rather mild flavor, even without added sugar, and its infusion is red/brown.
